The 2022 Chevrolet Trax has a brand new engine! A 1.4L Turbo with Variable Valve Timing, DOHC 4-cylinder Direct Injection SIDI with 155 hp @ 5600 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque @ 2000 - 4000 rpm. Electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and Driver Shift Control helps provide smooth, effortless automatic shifting engine automatic shifting engine. 
 
System remains in AWD up to 60 km/h and then checks for slippage. If slippage is detected, it automatically transfers torque to the rear wheels for added traction. If no slippage is detected, system reverts to FWD to maximize fuel efficiency.
